After the chaotic events of Criminal Minds' 200th episode, JJ (A.J. Cook) will need to take a break from her job at BAU.

Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer spoke with TV Guide after the 200th episode, teasing that JJ will be gone for a few weeks.

"She's had a couple weeks off when we see her again," Messer explained. "I think there's a relief you feel at the end of the 200th. There are no more secrets, no more lies. That chapter is closed."

She added that there will not be a big aftermath episode for JJ. The Special Agent will return to the BAU in a future episode feeling "tired" but the events of the 200th episode do not affect her work.

Messer also shared that she was hoping to make the season 9 finale of Criminal Minds a two-hour event with a cliffhanger.

"I want to break it as a movie. Last year, we didn't get to do a cliff-hanger because of [contract negotiations], so it'd be nice to do one this year," she admitted.

The next episode of Criminal Minds is set to air on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The episode, titled Mr. & Mrs. Anderson, features the BAU investigating a series of murders in the Pittsburgh area. The BAU seeks out two UnSubs who are working together.

Meanwhile, Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) and Morgan (Shemar Moore) are busy with Valentine's Day plans with their significant others.

Criminal Minds season 9 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
