'The Originals' Cast Talks Season 2

The 41-year-old Oklahoma native kept fans updated on the show's progress via Twitter, posting a few behind-the-scenes pics including the choreographing of a 20-man stunt scene. Chances are this means there is at least one fight scene coming up in the first few episodes this fall, and based on the season one finale, characters sure have a lot to fight about.

Season one ended with the birth of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Haley's (Phoebe Tonkin) child, though the occasion was not a happy one. The episode will filled to the brim with death, destruction, and deceit, setting the second season up pretty nicely for some imminent conflict.

Hunt is not the only one enjoying himself. The show's writers have also been getting pretty pumped about the upcoming season. "You know it's a good day in the room when everyone shakes their heads a pitch and says 'that's really dark, but it's great' #TheOriginals," tweeted the writers June 30.

A number of cast and crew, including Cammie actress Leah Pipes and producer Julie Plec, have referred to the news season as "epic."

The Originals returns to The CW on Monday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
