Private Practice star Taye Diggs is all set to join the cast of The Good Wife for season 6, it was revealed on July 7.

Diggs will be quite at home as he has already been part of a legal drama (Private Practice). An E!Online report revealed other related details. He will play Dean Levine-Wilkins, who has been described as a "meticulous" and "talented" equity partner at Lockhart/Gardner. Wilkins will actually movie with Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) to Florrick/Agos.

The creators of the show, Robert and Michelle King also talked about their excitement at getting Diggs on board.

"We couldn't be more excited to have Taye on the show," the Kings said in a statement. "We've been huge fans for years, and love his ability to play comedy and drama with equal ease."

The highlight of the finale for season 5 was Eli Gould (Alan Cumming) proposing Alicia (Julianna Margulies) become a candidate for State's Attorney. The cliffhanger obviously had to do with the big decision Alicia will have to take now.

The finale, titled A Weird Year, aired on May 18.

Season 6 of The Good Wife will premiere on CBS on September 21.
