The Samsung Galaxy S3 will be launched in Garnet Red on AT&T with an online release date scheduled to hit on July 15.

Samsung's latest smartphone has already been released on Sprint in Pebble Blue and White. But AT&T has announced it will also add the red color to its stock from the 15th. The new color variant will also be available at AT&T's retail locations from July 29.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 includes a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display, 8-megapixel camera, S Voice, and NFC (near-field-communications), 4G LTE connectivity, and a dual-core Snapdragon S4 chip.

AT&T is offering the new smartphone on a two year contract for $199, and will be the only network provider that will offer Samsung's leading smartphone in red.

The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3 was plagued by various delays across the networks in the United States, which has frustrated some customers anxious to get their hands on the latest version of Samsung's bestselling smartphone.

It is believed that the Galaxy S3 will receive the 4.1 Jellybean update sometime in the fourth quarter of 2012. The update will see the frame rate increased to an impressive 60 frames per second, and will improve the touch responsiveness and smoothness of the device's display.

Millions of customers have already received the Galaxy S3 and the launch of the smartphone has been a great success for Samsung. It initially launched in Europe and other parts of the world and has now dropped on networks in the United States. Samsung is hoping to gain a greater grip of the smartphone market over the coming months, with the release of Apple's iPhone 5 expected in either September or October 2012.

In Europe it was reported that the release of the Galaxy S3 sparked a large drop in sales of the iPhone 4S, although some analysts have also said the nearing release of the iPhone 5 has also had something to do with the drop in iPhone sales, as Apple fans prefer to wait a few months more to get the latest generation iPhone.
