Even though Charlie Hunnam had to drop out of the film Fifty Shades of Grey, the Sons of Anarchy star is still supporting the movie. After previously saying it was "heartbreaking" to drop out of the movie, now Hunnam is saying people are too quick to dismiss author EL James' writing.

"I think people really do that book a disservice when they reduce it to that type of talk," Hunnam said in new quotes from the Miami Herald released on July 22 about people who call Fifty Shades "mommy porn."

"What [James] actually created is a really sophisticated dynamic and presented it in a package which was accessible to people who normally would be terrified of that subject," he said. Hunnam had to leave the film due to scheduling conflicts between the movie and Sons of Anarchy.

Hunnam's role as Christian Grey eventually went to model-turned-actor Jamie Dornan, who seems to have Hunnam's complete support now in the part. Hunnam said that Dornan is "probably a lot better looking and a lot smoother" than himself. "I would've brought a certain rugged charm," Hunnam said, "but believe me, he's going to do just fine." Grey's love interest in the movie, Anastasia Steele is being played by Dakota Johnson.

Hunnam also said he'd be happy to have his audition material on the film's DVD.

Fifty Shades of Grey is expected to be released around Valentine's Day 2015.
