Austin Mahone kicked off his headlining tour in San Antonio last Friday and the pop star decided to get a little country while in Texas. The 18-year-old covered country legend George Strait while on tour.

According to Idolator on July 26, Mahone covered Strait's 1995 hit Check Yes Or No while wearing a cowboy hat that belonged to his father. Apparently Mahone has always been influenced by Strait. In a video that appeared on America's Funniest Home Videos, Mahone at 3 years old says, "I look like George Strait."

After the concert on Friday, Mahone tweeted "San Antonio was INCREDIBLE!!! Couldn't have started the tour off better. Right in my hometown is where it all started." Mahone is from Texas, although he now resides in Miami.

Helping Mahone kick off his headlining summer tour are opening acts The Vamps, Fifth Harmony and Shawn Mendes. On Sunday while on tour, Fifth Harmony celebrated two years of being a group together. The group tweeted "#2YearsOfFifthHarmony we are so grateful for where we are today because of you. Thank you Harmonizers & remember, #AnythingCanHappen"

They also thanked San Antonio after the first stop of the tour, "SAN ANTONIO!!! THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! WE CAN'T STOP SCREAMING!! Thank you for making the first night of tour BEYOND PERFECT!!"

Mahone, Fifth Harmony and the rest of the tour will be in Phoenix on July 29 next.
