Mahone told J-14 in an interview yesterday that the two were actually just friends. "We first met in L.A. when we recorded the Magic song for the Smurfs movie. We met at the studio that we recorded it at," he said. "We've been friends since."

Mahone and Becky G presented an award together at the July award show where they got pretty close. Becky G looked at Mahone and got closer to his face, while the Mmm Yeah singer stared seductively at her. While Becky G was speaking in Spanish, Mahone said, "and they kiss?" before Becky G pulled away from him.

The two then tweeted each other after the event, which sent their fan bases' hearts racing. On his Instagram, Mahone wrote afterwards, "Always good to see @iambeckyg" with a photo of the two of them together.

Mahone said that they were just happy to see each other. "We're both always so busy so it's rare that we're both in the same city at the same time."

Mahone is currently on his headlining summer tour with girl group Fifth Harmony, The Vamps and Shawn Mendes. Mahone's next tour date is set to be August 6 in West Valley City, UT.
