Longmire recently finished up it's third season on A&E and while the drama has yet to be renewed for a fourth season, the players involved seem relatively confident in the show's return.

'Longmire' Finishes Off 3rd Season With Major Cliffhanger

According to Wyoming's K2 Radio on Friday, a number of actors from the series have suggested off the record that they think the series will return. Last year the show was not officially renewed for Season 3 until late November, proving that the current uncertainty is not necessarily a bad sign or even out of the ordinary for the program.

The drama, based on the Longmire book series by Craig Johnson, did see a dip in ratings during its second season, but that did not stop the show from earning another year and during Season 3 viewership again improved.

Johnson has proven to be one of the program's greatest advocates and possessed unique creative input during the drama's inception. He had a say in casting and design, which is nearly unheard of for writers whose work is adapted for television or film.

On Friday Johnston told K2 Radio that TV adaptation of Longmire already has an impressive record, having had highest ratings of any scripted show ever to air on A&E, with five to six million viewers.

"I don't worry about it," said Johnson in reference to Longmire getting picked up for a fourth season. With eleven novels under his belt, Johnson certainly has the source material for the show should it continue into 2015.
