Longmire's Season 3 finale may be the last chance for anybody who has watched the show to get to see Walt, Vic, and the rest in action.

Questions To Be Answered In Season Finale Of Longmire

There is no promise, or even any news, about a fourth season, but that's a worry for another day. There is that matter of the season finale at hand. On Monday, A&E's official website reported on what you can expect from this episode of Longmire.

The finale is entitled, with a note of finality, "Ashes to Ashes," which may be more fitting than the folks behind the show would like it to be. The official synopsis from the website indicates that Walt will be looking for closure not just on Henry's case, but on his wife's murder as well. Will the mystery of who killed Walt's wife finally be answered, before it's too late? Meanwhile, while Branch remains suspended, and dangerous, he will continue to look into Jacob Nighthorse. There's also the matter of Vic's crumbling marriage of course, which will likely be addressed in some capacity.

There is also a brief preview of the episode that can be viewed to give viewers a teasing glimpse of what they are in for. Robert Taylor may be close to ending his run as Walt Longmire, sheriff of Absaloka County, Wyoming, but perhaps he and everybody else will go out with a bang. The season finale, and potential series finale, of Longmire airs Monday August 4 at 10:00 p.m. on A&E.
