Tony Denison has been playing Detective Andy Flynn for ten years, first on the critically acclaimed series The Closer and now on its spin-off Major Crimes, but the actor doesn't get tired of the role.

"We got picked up for a fourth season," Denison told Hollywood Today Live Monday about the show. One of the major differences is that on Major Crimes, Denison works with Mary McDonnell (Captain Sharon Raydor) instead of Kyra Sedgwick. "Mary is just wonderful," Denison said, "if Mary isn't for real than there's no hope for mankind. She's a really genuine person."

Some Major Crimes fans even want their characters to get together on the show and have created the fan name "Shandy."

"So do I," Denison joked about having them hook up on the show. But, he did say he didn't actually know what the writers have in store. "It seems to be moving in that direction, but I don't really want to know what the next episode brings." Denison admitted he likes to be surprised just like the fans.

Denison also talked about his "Flynn Girls" fans, which are girls on Twitter who love his character Andy Flynn. The actor called the movement "very flattering" for him and was glad it had happened.

Major Crimes airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
