Former "Full House" actress Jodie Sweetin is suing Clark Taylor Savros for $25,000 in damages after a car accident which happened over a year ago. Questions are being raised as to why the actress has taken over a year to sue, with some wondering if the actress is in desperate need of cash.

Sweetin filed the suit yesterday, seeking more than $25,000 for "future loss of earnings and future medical expenses." She also cited loss of wages and property damage.

The accident took place in March 2011 and involved in Sweetin and Savros' cars colliding. At that time, she had not stated any serious damage, but instead tweeted that she was OK. "Sorry guys! Had a car accident, im ok. A wrist fracture and neck and body are really sore. Car totaled. Not fun but thankful not worse!"

Sweetin is best known for her role as "Stephanie Tanner" in the 1990's hit TV sitcom "Full House." After the show ended in 1995, Sweetin went on to graduate from Los Alamitos High School in 1999. She attended Chapman University in California.

She married LAPD officer Shaun Holguin at the age of 20, but divorced in 2006. She then married Cody Herpin in 2007 and the two have a daughter, Zoie Laurelmae. She filed for legal separation from Herpin in 2008, and their divorce was finalized in 2010. She went on to have another child with boyfriend Morty Coyle that year. The two became engaged last year.

Sweetin admitted that she was a drug addict and wrote a memoir "unSweetined" about her experience with drugs, which started after "Full House" came to an end.

She told People magazine that her struggles are in the past. "Hopefully it'll never be anything my kids have to be a part of. I wish I hadn't gone through that, but I did."
