The cast of Penny Dreadful attended Comic-Con in San Diego last month, but on Thursday Showtime released an inside look at the fan turnout for the event.

'Penny Dreadful' Director To Helm Another Frankenstein-Themed Project

"We're here at Comic-Con, where we are finally meeting the fans that meet the most to me," declared series creator John Logan in the Showtime teaser, referring to the viewers who made the trek to support the program at the event (featured below).

"It's changed a little bit over the past five or six years," admitted Josh Hartnett (Ethan Chandler), who last attended the event for the 2007 horror film 30 Days Of Night. "It's enormous. It's a little overwhelming. A little intimidating."

Penny Dreadful may have only had one season so far, but the fans at Comic-Con were as devoted as some of the viewers that attended to support more seasoned shows.

"You don't normally get this connection with an audience when you do film and TV so it's really great," noted Harry Treadaway (Victor Frankenstein).

Later on, Treadaway was seen posing with a fan dressed as Frankenstein's creature Caliban, complete with stringy black hair and ghost-white makeup. Treadaway feigned fear, running at the camera in fright.

A number of fans elected to dress as their favorite characters from the Victorian supernatural drama. Some of the most popular costumes included those for Chandler, Caliban (Rory Kinnear), and Vanessa Ives (Eva Green). Needless to say, they were more than a little excited about the show's upcoming season.

"We trust John Logan," said one fan, "He seems to know what he's doing."

"Bring it!" shouted another enthusiastically.

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime to "bring it" for a second season in 2015.
