Fans are still mourning A&E's cancellation of the popular crime drama Longmire, but this week Warner Horizon will begin presenting the series to new outlets.

Online Campaign Strives To Save 'Longmire'

On Wednesday night Deadline revealed that a pitch has already been developed and that a number of potential suitors are already lined up.

Two of the most notable outlets that will hear the pitch this week are Netflix and Amazon. Deadline believes both would appeal to the Longmire audience, which is somewhat older than that of other shows which were featured on A&E. Hulu is also a possibility, though a meeting there has not been confirmed.

Things seem less promising in finding another home on cable. TNT originally created the series before A&E picked it up, though reportedly TNT has already passed on the drama's fourth season. Neither USA nor AMC have shown much interest, though both would be natural considerations for the program based on their other content.

When producers appeal to Amazon and Netflix they will give a presentation on the series, noting its key selling points and what they have in mind for a fourth season if the show should get picked up. Season 3 ended with quite a cliffhanger, and so there are many possible avenues for the series to take.

Longmire was A&E's top-rated scripted series before its cancellation in spite of the fact that ratings went down from an average of 6 million to 5.6 million between Seasons 2 and 3.

The drama maintains a loyal following, with fans and cast alike voicing their support for the series through social media.

If Longmire does return for a fourth season on a new network, it will likely do so later in 2015.
