On the evening of September 17, House of Cards show runner Beau Willimon dished on certain facets of the Netflix drama while participating in a discussion about Ken Burns's new documentary, The Roosevelts: An Intimate Portrait.

"Viewing Instructions" For Season 3 Revealed By Showrunner Beau Willimon

While Willimon was very careful not to give away any spoilers about the next chapter of the show, he did talk about a certain storyline he ditched in season 2, and we wonder if that might have potential for getting touched upon. The Hill reported from the event and noted something Willimon was very pasionate about.

"[I] was like we're going to do a story on patent reform because I think patent reform is fascinating. I truly do," he said. "And I want the rest of America to think patent reform is fascinating."

Season 3 To Feat. Frank Underwood's Response To Islamic Terrorism?

So might Willimon try and work it out in season 3? Only time will tell.

Willimon also spoke about politics in Washington, stating that it is the people who are responsible for a dissatisfactory government.

"Complicity is much more serious when it comes to politics. I think that we have the leaders that we deserve," he said. "The onus is not on them, it's on you. So if you're unhappy with Washington, it's not their fault."

Willimon is the writer and director of the show, which stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.

The third season of House of Cards is currently filming in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
