Is The New Hero Team Going To Influence The 'Captain America 3' Title & Plot?

Josh Brolin spoke to The Tribune on Thursday about his experience with Marvel and his excitement for the future of his character.

"We did [Guardians of the Galaxy] and it felt perfect. I still feel great about that project. I like what it represents," Brolin said.

Could She-Hulk Show Up In 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' To Help The Team?

"The (career) trajectory. It's very difficult for me not to look at the whole trajectory. The minute I get pigeonholed as some art-house guy, I love the idea of doing something different. It's not the genre I'm going for. It's not the title I'm going for. It's the role, or the type of director."

As for the director, Brolin said that he felt that James Gunn was amazing and enjoyed working with him on the film.

"When I met with those Marvel guys, I just loved seeing them and what they were about. They're really just kind of geeks for story," Brolin said.

"They love story and they don't try to hide it under any kind of coolness. 'This movie's going to make a lot of money' or 'This is going to do something for your career' - there's none of that talk."

He added that the process of talking with Marvel is no different than when a high-profile art director wants him to do a film, it is all the same mindset.

"The Coen brothers are the same way. P.T. Anderson is the same way," Brolin said. "So I don't really see any difference between my conversations with Marvel and my conversations with P.T. Anderson."

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to open in theaters on July 26, 2017.
