His death at first glance appeared to be a random mugging gone wrong, but now, Sami (Allison Sweeney) may learn that EJ's (James Scott) death wasn't quite as random as previously thought on Days of Our Lives.

Sami Is Hit Hard By A Surprising Delivery

After Sami discovered his body in the woods, she noted that his wedding ring had been missing from his hand, indicating that someone had swiped it before killing him. However, as Rafe (Galen Gering) continues to try and figure out just who killed her husband, he is becoming increasingly more suspicious.

He has had the crime scene closed off and brought in a forensics team, because after noting that no DNA was left at the scene and the killer's footsteps had been wiped away, he believed that there was something more to EJ's death.

Sami Makes A Heart-Breaking Discovery

Now, after investigating further, he may finally have the proof he needs to confirm EJ had not been mugged-and he will take this alarming new information to a grieving Sami.

After hearing her husband's murder wasn't quite so random however, it could send Sami into a deeper tailspin-because if EJ's murderer had specifically targeted him, then she or the kids could be next.

Meanwhile, Clyde (James Reed) is working overtime to ensure he has all of his bases covered to prevent the police from realizing he had been partially responsible for EJ's death. Though his henchman, Miguel was the one who actually fired the gun, Clyde was the one who covered up the crime scene and send his mountain man accomplice to plant the dead man's belongings on a drug addict so it would seem like the mugging it is currently believed to be.

Now, after Miguel continues to appear nervous and jumpy about being caught, Clyde will arrange for him to disappear as well-deep into the ground back in Poplar Bluff.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
