As the plot thickens on Showtime's new series, The Affair, few theories about what might have transpired in Alison's (Ruth Wilson) past, which might tie in with the case have been emerging.

Investigation Related To Alison's Husband Cole's Murder?

Entertainment Weekly has been doing some brain storming about who could've been murdered on the show, and also hinted at some pretty fascinating twists the story could take. The publication took its cues from the theme song of the show, Container by Fiona Apple, and inferred that the deceased person, also referred to in the track, could very well be Alison's husband Cole (Joshua Jackson). This is something, EnStars had already speculated earlier this month.

But what was more intriguing about EW's attempt at connecting the dots was a suggestion of past relationship between Alison and Bruce (John Doman), Noah's (Dominic West) father-in-law, who she might have had a child with.

Noah & Alison Get Hot And Heavy In Upcoming Episode Of The Affair

The premiere of Showtime's new drama, The Affair, has already caught the attention of critics, and has viewers hooked with its Rashomon-styled narrative.

The show premiered on October 12 and revolves around Noah, a writer struggling to pen his next novel. and Alison, a waitress at a diner as the duo recall their affair for a mysterious interrogation. The fans aren't made privvy to the subject of the interrogation in the first episode. Both Noah and Alison are married, while Noah seems happily married with four children, Alison's marriage is tumultous over the loss of their only child.

The show premiered on October 12. The first episode is available for free viewing on the official website.

The next episode of the series will air on October 26 at 10 pm ET/PT on Showtime.
