While Halloween movies are not especially known for being family friendly, Netflix is offering several options for streaming horror films meant for the whole family to enjoy.

The Best Halloween Movies On Netflix

One classic Halloween favorite that Netflix is streaming is The Nightmare Before Christmas, in which King of Halloween Town Jack Skellington explores the happy new world of Christmas and "kidnaps the Sandy Claws."

Another family friendly classic is Invasion of the Body Snatchers, about a group of people who discover that an alien invasion is upon them.

For families with smaller children, Netflix is also streaming several young kid-friendly movies and shows. Among younger fare, Netflix is streaming Casper's Scare School, which features Casper the Friendly Ghost, La Leyenda de la Llorona and R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour.

There are also collections of DreamWorks horror specials, with one selection including Scared Shrekless, which features ogre Shrek, Donkey and others, The Ghost of Lord Farquaad and Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space.

The second volume in the DreamWorks horror specials includes Monsters vs. Aliens: Night of the Living Carrots, Monsters vs. Aliens: B.O.B.'s Big Break, Megamind: The Button of Doom and Shrek: The Pig Who Cried Wolf.

Finally, there is a special "Shrek Stories" selection that includes Scared Shrekless, Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos and Far Far Away Idol.

Other family friendly horror films available on Netflix include Disney's Spooky Buddies, Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred and Audrey Rose.
