It is easy to be overshadowed by some of the Marvel news from yesterday if you are not the third Captain America or Avengers movie. But another third movie could be making waves as being just as big and tragic as the other two films and it may leave the God of Thunder in shambles afterward.

How Long Will We Have To Wait To See 'Thor 3?'

Thor: Ragnarok was revealed during Tuesday's announcements and it confirmed what many had been speculating about the next installment in the franchise for some time now. It was predicted that this story could end with the destruction of Asgard with Loki having a hand in the mayhem.

Marvel head Kevin Feige confirmed that Tom Hiddleston would be returning as Thor's brother, which signals the confirmation of these rumors. In the end of Thor: The Dark World, Loki was seen on the throne of Asgard after Thor declined to take over and was disguised as his father, Odin.

Natalie Portman To Be Done After 'Avengers 2' With Marvel?

Ragnarok is going to spell a lot of trouble for Asgard and clearly Marvel is looking to bring out the big guns in what is most likely the final standalone Thor movie for awhile. But what does this Ragnarok mean for the main hero?

It means a return to home. During the announcement, Feige mentioned that this movie would happen following Avengers: Age of Ultron so Thor may be learning from Loki's trick and heading back to Asgard immediately after the next Marvel movie concludes. While there will be a few movies happening after it, Thor: Ragnarok is the next film in the timeline.

While the movie won't have the cast that the third Captain America or Avengers will have, the story is reeked in tragedy and could be that final ending between Thor and Loki that the two brothers have been dealing with for the past two movies and first Avengers. Loki has yet to commit to dying and this could be the final wind.

Thor: Ragnarok is expected to hit theaters on July 28, 2017.
