Doctor Who's Clara Oswald won't be able to go back to a 9 to 5 life when she finishes traveling with the Doctor.

'Doctor Who' Season 8 Spoilers: When Will Twelve Regenerate? Peter Capaldi Hints At His Timeline

When Jenna Coleman's character will depart the series is still unknown, but it doesn't sound like she will leave with her heart still beating. If she does, she will probably be rather unhappy.

Twelve's (Peter Capaldi) companion may not have the healthiest relationship with the Doctor, but it is one she. Like many other companions, is hopelessly addicted to.

'Doctor Who' Season 8 Spoilers: Is Series Too Reliable? Steven Moffat Looks To Shake Up Story

"I think she's addicted to him and the life and the TARDIS and I don't think there's really a way back for her now that she's had a taste of this life and him," Coleman told Digital Spy. "I don't really think she could go back to just having a normal life again."

Unfortunately, all companions eventual met their end. Whether they go back to their daily life, team up with UNIT, die, or head to an alternate dimension, the Doctor will always eventually wind up alone. Clara may depart the TARDIS as soon as the Christmas episode. While Capaldi has already renewed his contract for season 9, Coleman's status is still unknown.

The actress isn't about to spill the beans, however.

"The truth is ... I don't want to tell you the truth because I quite like these rumors," Coleman confessed to This Morning. "I think it's really interesting because, suddenly, people don't know what's going to happen in the series, people don't have any idea, so this speculation is quite good."
