Despite her character being confined to a drawer knob in the original run of the series, actress Joan Chen is hoping to return to Twin Peaks for the 2016 revival.

'Twin Peaks' Star Sheryl Lee Slams Negative Report About Her Life

Chen, who played the mysterious Josie Packard in Twin Peaks, recently spoke with Zap2It about the return of the series on Showtime in 2016.

"It's a mystery. We don't know. But if you want her back, you should say it in your article," she said, laughing.

Josie was last seen trapped in a drawer knob after having her body possessed in the season 2, episode 16 episode The Condemned Woman. It was one of the series' most bizarre sequences (which is saying something), but Chen is hoping to make her way out of the knob.

"I would love to," Chen said. "Isn't [David Lynch] directing the entire series? It would be great. I loved that world. With Netflix streaming, with all the streaming possibilities, there is a new generation of Twin Peaks fans. I would like to come out of the doorknob."

The world of Twin Peaks is mysterious and strange, so even if Josie was not able to make it out of the drawer knob, Chen could show up as a different character in the 2016 revival. After all, this is the show that featured Sheryl Lee playing Laura Palmer as well as her cousin Maddie. It is also the show that featured Piper Laurie playing Catherine Martell in addition to Catherine dressing up as a Japanese man.

It is also possible that Chen may be too busy to film anything for Twin Peaks considering she is set to star in Netflix's upcoming original series Marco Polo.

Twin Peaks returns to television in 2016 on Showtime, though the network has not announced a specific premiere date yet.
