'Fifty Shades of Grey' Debuts At No. 1 On The Box Office

On Wednesday, ABC News reported that the heartthrob has confirmed that he is not leaving the film and he will appear in the franchise's new sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.

"Jamie is delighted that the film is breaking box office records worldwide and whilst the studio has not made any formal announcements about sequels, he is looking forward to making the next film," his rep told ABC News.

Is Author E.L. James Writing The New 'Fifty Shades Darker' Script?

It has already been confirmed that the two sequels will appear on the big screen in the very near future and production for Fifty Shades Darker will be underway soon.

Just last week Variety reported that there has been a delay in the production because Universal executives and E.L. James have yet to reach an agreement regarding the new film.

Apparently James wants to be more involved in the film's script and she wants to take on the role of screenwriter.

"The studio had always intended to sit down with the author after the film opened and discuss next steps, and that has not yet happened," said a Universal spokesman.

Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed are set to be released some time in the near future. Official release dates have yet to be confirmed, so be sure to check in for more updates.
