John Fusco recently announced that the season 2 pilot for the Netflix series Marco Polo is finally finished, but fans are anxious to know when the show is scheduled to air.

Will Season 3 Be The Final Chapter Of 'House of Cards'?

Earlier this year, it was reported that Fusco's tale of Marco Polo's journey has been renewed for 10 brand new episodes but he has yet to say when the show will be available for live streaming.

While the series has yet to confirm a season 2 release date, Fusco recently sat down with Seven Days to discuss the inspiration behind the plot.

According to the site, Fusco has finished writing the pilot and he believes that the show's global reach evokes Marco Polo's expedition in the late 13th and early 14th century.

Fusco told the site that he has always had a great interest in Asian culture and when he was young he took up martial arts which led to his interest in kungfu.

"I would go off to catechism, sit at the corner bus stop and read the teachings of Lao Tzu," said Fusco. "And then I would go to catechism, and it was just not connecting."

Fusco added that the Chinese culture has always been so fascinating to him and that's he how he began to create the plot for the show.

Back in January Coming Soon reported that the second season would capture the epic journey as Marco navigates Kublai Khan's world of greed, betrayal, sexual intrigue and rivalry.

The site also reported that Fusco would serve as the executive producer alongside producer Dan Minahan.

Academy Award nominated directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon Tiki) will also be joining the crew for the new season.
