While promoting his new film, Chappie, in a recent interview Hugh Jackman spoke about his interest in reprising his role as Wolverine for Deadpool if the opportunity came his way.

Speaking to MTV UK the actor spoke about how he would completely on board for a cameo as Wolverine in the movie.

"Ryan is a really good friend of mine... He's a really good actor, and he will nail that," he said. "[Wolverine and Deadpool] are definitely enemies in the comics, and they always spark off well together... I'd be open to that idea." 

The actor also reiterated his faith in the abilities of his friend, actor Ryan Reynolds, who will be playing the part of Wade Wilson aka Deadpool.

Reynolds portrayed the character for Jackman starrer X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Jackman also added that Reynolds "nailed i"t as Wilson in the little time he had to play the part in X-Men Origins.

Jackman's Chappie will hit theaters on March 6 and also stars Sharlto Coppie, Dev Patel, and Watkin Tudor Jones.

Tim Miller is directing the film. T.J. Miller, Morena Baccaran, and Gina Carano will also be starring in Deadpool.

Deadpool is set to release in February 2016.
