There has been a whole lot of buzz surrounding the release of Transformers 5 with rumors that the movie's release date might be pushed from 2016 to 2017.

Transformers 5 To Rewind To First In The Franchise?

A recent report sourced a Twitter user, who stated that the movie would be releasing on June 24, 2016, via a tweet dated January 25.

While the source doesn't seem to be a trusted one, the fact that production for the movie might begin soon -- as was revealed by Mark Wahlberg, who will be reprising his role in the movie -- means that it is very much possible that Transformers 5 might make its 2016 deadline.

Latest Updates About Transformers 5

Initially, following the release of Age of Extinction it was revealed that Transformers 5 would be hitting theaters sometime in 2016. But since Michael Bay divorced himself from the franchise, there has also been uncertainty about the cast related with the movie. But reports suggested that the release date for the sequel had been pushed back to 2016 from 2017.

The suggestion seemed viable as, although the producers and Paramount had originally envisioned a 2016 release for the Age of Extinction sequel, they had not prepared for the kind of uncertainty the project is now fruaght with. At the time, it was assumed that Bay would continue with the franchise. As the director has reportedly abandoned the project and there had been no word of the Age of Extinction star cast reprising their role, it seemed like Paramount needs to take more time to rethink its gameplan.

But after Wahlberg's recent interview, in which he revealed that he was very much on board for the sequel to Age of Extinction, adding that he believed that filming would begin soon, it is very likely that Transformers 5 will make its 2016 release date.

In the interview with MTV while Wahlberg confirmed his involvement with Transformers 5, he wasn't quite sure if Bay was rerturning. "I can't speak for Mr. Bay, but something tells me we'll be on the set soon," Wahlberg said.

Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
