We already knew that RDJ (Robert Downey Junior for those not hip enough to know that) was going to be reprising his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the third Captain America film, Captain America: Civil War, along with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury (since both were in the last Captain America movie).

But now we know for sure that Jeremy Renner will also be joining the cast as Avengers member Hawkeye, making the standalone superhero flick (set for a May 2016 release) look more like an entry in the superhero group franchise.

Will Spiderman Feature In Civil War?

The Hollywood Reporter related this bit of exciting news, while also revealing Renner's other commitment, co-starring with Amy Adams in Story of Your Life. The actor will begin filming for Civil War in the spring.

While Hawkeye is in for sure, there's also been a lot of speculation about Spider-man featuring in the upcoming instalment of Captain America and joining the Avengers.

Iron-Spider Set To Feature In Civil War?

A rumor about the possibility that the friendly neighborhood web-slinger appearing in the movie was set off after Sony sealed a deal with Marvel for permissions to have the superhero feature in their productions.<

Screen Crush reported the development, revealing that the producers intended to bring in a new face of Peter Parker through Civil War, and prep fans for his big solo return in 2017.

Previously another report speculated the possibility of the Iron-Spider featuring in Captain America 3: Civil War.
