A new sneak peek for the next episode of ABC's Castle reveals Beckett (Stana Katic) having second thoughts about her career.

New 'Castle' Episode May Focus On Some of the Women in the 12th Precinct?

ABC has released a special sneak peek for the new Castle episode At Close Range, which is set to air this Monday. The clip features Beckett searching through the latest victim's belongings as she speaks philosophically with Castle (Nathan Fillion).

"I hate this part," she admits to Castle while searching through victim Carolyn Decker's purse.

She adds that it is so intimate to go through someone's belongings, to which Castle asks her who Carolyn Decker really was.

"She was a workaholic," Beckett says, wistfully. "The daily alarm on her phone is set for 5 a.m. and her calendar shows that she was completely dedicated to Pure Water now. She has that handwritten letter from a little boy in Africa in her wallet thanking her. His village was almost completely wiped out by cholera and then once they set up the water filtration system in the village nobody died. She was actually making a difference."

Beckett is clearly feeling as though she is not making a real difference in the world compared to Carolyn, so Castle tells her, "you know you make a difference too."

"Yeah, not like her," she replies.

It is then that Beckett stumbles upon a second phone in Carolyn's purse. "Motive for murder," she says.

It will be interesting to see if the show further explores Beckett's doubts about making a difference in the world as the show's seventh season comes to a close.

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
