An upcoming episode of ABC's Castle may focus on the women of the 12th Precinct particularly coming together on a case.

Castle show runner David Amann spoke of this idea with TVLine, after the publication asked if there was going to be an episode in the future that pits the men against the women for any reason.

"There may be something like that, where there's a different configuration to the investigative team that emphasizes a couple of the women," Amann said. "That's something to look for around [Episode] 21."

An episode like this may feature characters like Beckett (Stana Katic), Lanie (Tamala Jones) and/or Gates (Penny Johnson Jerald) coming together.

Fans will recall that there was an episode that used this dynamic in season 6 called Need to Know. This episode featured Castle (Nathan Fillion) and the men of the precinct essentially pitted against Beckett and Agent Rachel McCord (guest star Lisa Edelstein).

On a related note, SpoilerTV revealed Tuesday that episode 7.21 of Castle would be titled In Plane Sight. The report also revealed that actor Nick Greene would be playing a character named Ayman Haddad.

In the mean time, next week's episode of Castle will be focusing on Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever), with the detective getting involved in a shooting with a congressman.

"Detective Kevin Ryan is on the security detail of a charismatic congressman attending a charity event when shots suddenly ring out," the synopsis for the episode reads. "Driven to apprehend the killer, Ryan must revisit the events that led up to the shooting, with the help of Castle and Beckett."

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
