He revealed to Us Weekly recently that the show is still hanging in the balance after suffering low ratings for the past couple of seasons. While the series ended on a positive note and all loose strings were finally tied up, viewers and avid fans might not have seen the last of Bluebell.

The publication caught up with Porter at the 23rd Annual A Night at Sardi's event to help the Alzheimer's Association in Los Angeles last month.

He revealed, "At this point, our sets are gone. No one has called us. We're still waiting, we'll probably be waiting until May. But I wish that they would just go ahead and let us know."

Whatever the outcome, Porter is thankful to the viewers who tuned in and continued to support the show.

"We just want to be able to say [thank you] to the fans for coming on this ride with us. If it is the end of the show, which, some of us in the camp -- we believe it might be... No matter when we get the word that we're officially cancelled, which we [don't know] yet, we just want to thank everybody for coming along with us."

He also showed love to fans on Friday, April 2 shortly after the series ended. He thanked fans for watching the show and added, "You are what made Bluebell really work."

No #HartOfDixie tonight, so...Lemme talk to y'all for a second.
