NCIS will not be airing a new episode on April 21, but the series will resume with new episodes the following week with the episode called Troll airing on April 28.

'NCIS' Season 12 Finale Set To Air On What Date?

On Tuesday, CBS released the press release for this upcoming episode, which revealed Matt Jones would return to portray Special Agent Ned Dorneget.

Dorneget made his debut in the tenth episode of Season 9 called Sins of the Father while still a probationary special agent.

Jones appeared in a few other episodes, including more Season 9 episodes, which were Need to Know and Up in Smoke as well as a Season 10 episode called Prime Suspect, to resume the role of Dorneget.

In this upcoming episode, Dorneget will be sent from the NCIS Cyber Operations Division to assist Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop (Emily Wickersham), Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) with the murder case of a Navy warfare engineer.

The Navy warfare engineer worked out of the Office of Naval Intelligence.

In this episode, Bishop's husband NSA Attorney Jake Malloy (Jamie Bamber) will appear, leading the team to discover that he and Gibbs have become good friends.

This episode was written by Scott Williams and directed by Dennis Smith.

Williams has teased photos from on set since March 30 while filming Troll, which can be viewed below.

It seems like from the view of Bishop's desk there is a hidden message of sorts. Williams shared "there's a clue here somewhere."

It appears as though Williams brought his dog to set too.

Williams teased another hint about Troll, which seems to revolve around pie.

The NCIS writer also praised Wickersham for her work on set and shared a video of the actress in a gymnasium shooting some hoops.

Williams also shared a photo of Harmon and Wickersham in the gymnasium.

NCIS airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
