They were married for nearly two years before their first public appearance together as a couple, and now, Blake Lively admits it took a while to make her feel comfortable posing on red carpets with Ryan Reynolds.

In her new interview with Allure Magazine, Lively talked about her first red carpet appearance with Reynolds at the 2014 Met Gala in New York, and how she finally felt okay with posing with him at an event, because she knew the time would come eventually--and she doesn't regret waiting until the event, which saw them both dressed to the nines.  

"It was the first time we were ever on the red carpet together," she admits in the interview. "It was scary to put yourself out there like that, but then it also seems really silly to be standing five feet from each other and refusing to stand together. It's always that tricky balance of keeping your privacy but then also not being absurd. And then there's also that thing where you think, it would be nice for our kids to see a photo of Mommy and Daddy dressed up together."

The couple, who recently welcomed their first child together, their daughter James, have always been a private couple, even managing to keep their nuptials back in 2012 after a year of dating under wraps until their family members started being spotted around the South Carolina town they wed in.  

Lively also opened up about not regretting marrying as young as she did--settling down and wedding Reynolds when she was just 25 years old.  

"Oh, my God. That is so nasty! Sowing your oats? Lord have mercy!" she said after she was asked if she wished she had more of a chance to do so before she settled down.
