'Downton Abbey' Star Reveals Something 'Bittersweet' About The Series

On Thursday, Express posted an interview with Catherine Steadman, who plays Mabel Lane Fox, on the series. She mentioned that series creator Julian Fellowes is more than likely going to think of something amazing for the show's final moments,

"I think it will come to a very exciting and fulfilling conclusion," Steadman said. "Julian's sort of thought long and hard about it and it's the best possible ending."

Is The 'Downton Abbey' Dowager Going To Appear On A New TV Series?

Even thought the actress doesn't have a lot of specific details on what's going to happen in the sixth season, she did point out how the cast and crew members predicted that this would be the last chapter.

"Everyone knew in series five that series six was going to be the final series, and knowing the little I know about the direction it's going in it totally makes sense," Steadman said.

If everyone already knew that the show was going to end, does this mean that any of them had any difficulties keeping this news to themselves? According to Steadman, she personally didn't have a problem not letting this cat out of the bag.

"No, it wasn't difficult to keep the secret because everybody just does," she said. "I suppose it's the same as any series that people are interested in."

Downton Abbey Season 6 is expected to premiere in the United States in January 2016 on PBS.
