It looks as though Nick Loeb is definitely not backing down from his lawsuit against his ex-fiancée Sofia Vergara over the embryos they created while they were still together. The businessman defends himself in a new statement by sating that "life begins at fertilization."

Sofia Vergara Responds To Nick Loeb's Allegations That She Wants To Destroy Her Embryos

Apparently, Loeb initially sued Vergara over her "desire to destroy them." The Hollywood star's lawyer released a statement over the weekend stating that she doesn't want to actually destroy them, but keep them frozen indefinitely, given the fact that the ex-couple is no longer together. Loeb, meanwhile, says that he still wants to bring the embryos to term as he himself has always dreamed of being a parent.

According to People Magazine on Tuesday, Loeb said, "I have always strongly believed that life begins at fertilization and that every embryo is a life on a journey towards birth. I created these two female embryos with the purpose of taking them to term and not destruction, because I have always dreamed of being a father. I take the responsibility and obligation of being a parent very seriously."

He added, "Creating an embryo in the natural way can lead to parenthood obligations, even where a man doesn't want to become a father. Where a man does want to become a father, and wants to impose no obligations on the other party, he should have that corresponding right. However life comes to be created, it should have no determination on either the rights of wanting to be or the requirements of having to be a parent."

Loeb also added that he wants to give Vergara the chance to be involved with the child in the future, if she changes her mind.

The couple broke up last year and the actress is now engaged to Joe Manganiello.
