It seems Outlander's 18th century Scotland is rife with wayward time travelers.

It turns out Geillis (Lotte Verbeek) knows more about Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) past, present, and future than she originally let on. Not only has Geillis travelled herself, but she has also studied Claire's case in depth.

"I've always played the part knowing that she is [from the future]," Verbeek told Zap2It. "Geillis studied Claire's case, in fact, in the 1960s, so she knows what she's doing. She also knows there have been a few cases of time traveling preceding her, so when she meets Claire, she's pretty certain it's her."

Thanks to the "witch's" smallpox vaccination, Claire could tell her fellow captor was telling the truth. After all her time in the past, it seems Geillis is looking for a confidant.

"From the moment she meets Claire, she's just wanting Claire to confide in her which she only does later on," Verbeek told TV Line. "But she wants a certain honesty. But she knows. She always knows."
