A new baddie is on the move on Doctor Who.

It seems the Twelfth Doctor and Clara will come face-to-face with a new life form during episodes 5 and 6.

"What's that in the shadows? New monster about to meet Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman," the BBC teased (via Doctor Who TV).

The series released an image of the upcoming alien/robot/creature (see video above) and it looks particularly menacing in the contrived half-lighting a fog. Complete with a menacing red-lighted facemask, the creature has rounded nodes and antennas, making us wonder if the baddie is alien, robotic, or some strange hybrid of both.

While viewers wait to meet Doctor Who's latest addition, the series will kick off season 9 with "The Magician's Apprentice" and "The Witch's Familiar." These episodes will definitely feature another appearance from Twelve's sworn enemy, The Mistress, and may possibly include visit from one of the Doctor's other deadly enemies - Davros.
