Danny and Baez's investigation is going to have to be tested on how seriously it'll be taken on Blue Bloods.

Danny & Baez's Hitman Investigation Chatter On 'Blue Bloods'

The two investigators are discussing the case on the chief being gunned down and Frank is ordering everyone to catch this killer. But what makes this case more serious is that Frank happened to be close to the victim leaving the detectives to learn not to use any personal vendettas in situations like this.

Baez only has so much information on what they can do and as she goes over it with her partner, they assume this could be a gang hit. Since the chief went by the book in this case, Danny knows that they have to do the same thing- even though the tension in his voice sounds like he could do far worse than anything the book tells him.

When Erin shows up to the office, she lets Danny know that she'll have some participation in this investigation. She also makes it clear that charges are going to be brought up in court. These are from orders of the D.A. and the mayor and pretty much anyone else who has higher authority than Danny.

Erin then points out that the investigators need to follow any orders she gives since the powers that be are making sure that everything that happens in this case goes by what the law says. This leaves plenty of speculation on how Danny will keep up with this and if he'll be able to go by the rules.
