She spoke with the network Wednesday to set the record straight.

"The one thing I will say is that every single decision I make is based on one thing; the well-being of my boys. It's easy for people to ask why she did that or why she isn't doing this, but the simple truth is unless you are in that situation yourself, you really can't make that judgment."

Nida is serving an eight-year sentence in Lexington, Ky. after he pleaded guilty to very serious fraud charges. Parks added that she has gotten insight from professionals when it comes to letting their two sons, Dylan, 2 and Ayden, 4, see their father in jail.

"I do my best to make smart decisions after carefully considering all options and consulting with experts and others who advise me. I know in my heart that everything I do is based on what is best for my children."

Parks herself was criticized for marrying Nida to begin with. They wed after his first long stint in jail from 2004-09 for similar racketeering charges.

After Nida pleaded guilty to the accusations int he latest case, Parks said she would file for divorce. It's not clear where they stand with that. But viewers might be able to find out on The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion special that airs Sunday.
