It’s been awhile since we heard any news from Apollo Nida (husband of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks) but the issues between the two have resurfaced right on the heels of Father’s Day.

According to TMZ Monday, Nida spent the special day for dads alone while serving time in federal prison in Lexington, Ky. He pleaded guilty to several fraud charges and was sentenced to eight years behind bars.

Meanwhile, him and Parks have reportedly been at odds as she hasn’t allowed their two young sons, Dylan, 5, and Ayden, 1, to visit him yet.

And Father’s Day was no exception. The site reported that professional psychologists advised against Parks taking the boys to see their father. Still, they were able to celebrate the day and sent special cards and even pictures. Parks also sends money so that he can have a certain lifestyle in jail.

Nida has been in prison for nearly a year after he turned himself in in mid-September of last year. Since then, he has made it clear that he hasn’t seen their sons. He even called in on an episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and spoke with his good friend Peter Thomas (Cynthia Bailey’s husband) and updated them on his status.
