She told Bravo Tuesday that she has definitely been trying to find the best way to raise their two sons as a single parent.

“[It] has its daily challenges and can certainly be stressful at times. The hardest part is seeing my children grow up without the presence of their father. It’s very important, particularly for boys, to have a positive male role model to show them how to grow into successful and responsible young men.”

She added that she herself has been hands-on In helping them and other boys.

“I have become very involved in the issue of positive male role models for young boys and work with communities to help them initiate programs that provide support to young boys who do not a father in their lives.”

Nida was sentenced to eight years in prison after he pleaded guilty to fraud charges last year. He was accused of identity theft and even stealing pensions from Delta Airlines employees. At first, Parks was supportive of Nida amid his legal woes, but when he decided to enter into a guilty plea, she believed that was evidence that he had something to hide. Despite reports, Parks has maintained that she was not involved in Nida’s criminal activity.

Nida is currently serving time in Lexington, KY, but is slated to be transferred to the East Coast soon.
