He may finally be closing in on the person who was actually responsible for murdering his son, but Ben Crawford (Ryan Phillippe) is going to be rocked by the discoveries he makes and secrets he uncovers concerning his wife, Christy (KaDee Strickland) on Secrets and Lies.

'Secrets & Lies' Getting Renewed For Second Season?

After learning from his lawyer that his now estranged wife paid for his retainer, Ben searched the house for the money it was clear she was hiding--striking gold when he found her secret stash in a safe in the attic. Now, in a preview clip for the Sunday, April 26 episode, he will confront her about the deceit she's been practicing for years now after she returns to the house to find the money and realizes it is now missing.

"You looking for something? Where'd you get the money Christy?" Ben asks her in the clip.

"Michael," she answers.

"He just gave you $150 grand?" Ben asks with disbelief.

"Over a number of years," she admits.

"Over a number of years, this just gets better and better," Ben replies.

As the two continue fighting, Ben becomes horrified when Christy reveals her new plans for the cash--which is no longer serving as a simple cushion should the family need the money.

"$150,000 is not a cushion, it's an escape plan so you could take the girls and leave me," Ben yells.

"That wasn't the plan before but it's a great idea, especially when you consider custody," Christy threatens. "Give me my money, Ben."

In addition to the new threats Christy could pose, Ben will also have to deal with a painful situation when he gets much-needed daddy-daughter time at the Christmas fair with Abby (Belle Shouse)--which is interrupted by an unwelcome guest. And though he's given Cornell (Juliette Lewis) reason to doubt his role in Tom's murder, it doesn't mean she has entirely ruled him out as a suspect either--and she will return to the scene of the crime to try and find any new evidence she can that will help her close her case.

Secrets and Lies airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
