It took nearly losing her for good, but Daniel (Shawn Christian) has realized how much he wants and needs to have Nicole (Arianne Zucker) by his side for the rest of his life--and to prove his point, he will ask her a life-changing question on Days of Our Lives.

Victor Seeks Revenge On Xander

Their relationship was full of impossible ups and downs as they tried navigating past their individual romantic pasts with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Eric (Greg Vaughn)--especially since Nicole seemed to keep targeting Eric's new love interest Serena (Melissa Archer) and seemed to be trying to find something wrong with her that didn't exist.

However, Nicole was eventually proven right after learning of Serena's connection to Xander (Paul Telfer)--and that realization and her plot led to immense trouble for her and Eric both after the truth came out and Xander tried killing them both. During the ordeal, the two finally also confessed to their real feelings for one another which had never really gone away, thinking they would die together. They wound up getting rescued however--and now have a big secret about just how much happened while they waited for death in that boiler room.

Eric and Nicole Are Rescued

Daniel is unaware of just how much things changed when Nicole and Eric were trapped together however, and now, knowing how much it killed him to think he could have lost Nicole for good, he will make a big step in their relationship to ensure he never loses her again--by proposing. And that move will cause Nicole to have to make a tough decision about her life and the two men she has loved the most.
