"I am [directing]. There's a special episode," he said. "I almost don't want to give it away, but I might as well. It's the departure of one of the regular team members."

The actor also revealed that they were ow filming the fourth episode of the season, and spoke about working with the latest cast addition to the show, Aisha Tyler. "Reid is back at it, catching scumbags and hanging with the team that he loves and helping solve crimes," he said. "We've got some new cast additions. Aisha Tyler is on the show. It's been great so far. We're definitely off to a good start. We're running fast."

Finally Gubler hopes to shine a light on Reid's personal growth and imbue some of his evolution with the character in season 11.

"That's the great thing about playing a character for so long is that there's always new territory," he said. "Trying to take him a little bit more -- I've awlays wanted him to show growth."
