The Flash's Wally West will not be Iris' nephew.

Instead, Kid Flash will be the reporter's long lost brother. Mrs. West is back in the picture, and her meeting with her daughter gave Iris a lot to think about. While Barry grew up with Iris, Patton's character will soon come face-to-face with her only real sibling.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explained the switch up while speaking with IGN.

"We always hated on TV shows that it's year two and somebody's like, 'Well, Cousin John's coming!' And it's like, 'Oh, good ol' Cousin John!' who no one ever mentioned before. It was always weird," Kreisberg said. "The notion that they don't know Wally was sort of where that came from and then that was the idea that Francine was still alive and then that whole storyline."

And, as it turns out, Wally isn't merely Iris' half-brother. According to Kreisberg and IGN, Joe is the father.

So, how long can Iris keep this secret? Unlike Barry's superhero identity, the truth about Wally will not remain hush hush for all of season 2.

"Keeping this secret is not going to be so easy and it's going to be weighing on [Iris] before she finally decides to take some action in an upcoming episode," Kreisberg teased.
