Expect a lot to change in the new season of The Affair.

Chatter On Helen's 'Refusal To Stick Up' For Noah On 'The Affair'

In an interview with Variety released on Wednesday, Maura Tierney (Helen) mentioned that while nothing seems official as of yet, some ideas she's been hearing for the third season sound "great."

"It's very, very different from this year and I think it would be great TV, so let's see if we get to do it," the actress said. "I think it will be really fun."

Tierney then dished on her role and the way she perceives Helen. Considering that the woman has had to deal with a lot, including her cheating husband as well as drinking, Helen is someone who's doing what she can to deal with it all. And if things go Tierney's way, perhaps her character might be able to gather more strength along the way.

"I think of her as a woman struggling to handle a very difficult situation," the actress said. "I think she doesn't know how to gracefully handle all of this bad stuff. I don't think she's consciously trying to be graceful, but I want her to achieve that because I think that shows a lot of integrity if you can handle tough times with a certain amount of equanimity. So I see her as someone trying to get there."

The Affair Season3 is expected to premiere in fall 2016.
