Scarlett Johansson posed topless in the latest Dolce & Gabbana beauty ad.

In the new advertisement for the Italian fashion brand, Johansson, 28, is posed baring her shoulders and not much else in the cropped shot while posed next to a statue.

The Avengers actress was named the ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana's make-up collection in 2009.

Johansson's beauty has also appeared in ads for Calvin Klein, L'Oréal, Louis Vuitton and Spanish fashion brand Mango since 2009. She also posed for Moet & Chandon, the French champagne company.

The 28-year-old actress is currently starring in a Broadway play Cat On A Hot Tin Roof in New York City. She reprised the role of Maggie which was originally played by Elizabeth Taylor.

Johansson recently revealed she auditioned for the role of Fantine in the Oscar-winning film Les Miserables but lost to Anne Hathaway. She said she fell ill with laryngitis right before she auditioned for the role of the ill-fated prostitute. Johansson admitted that after seeing the film, she realized that the part of Fantine was meant to be played by Anne Hathaway.

"I think, looking at the film now, there's no possible way I ever could have topped that performance," Johansson told Broadway.com. "It was perfect and I think fateful and meant to be."

Hathaway, 30, won the 2013 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Miserables. She also won the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA Awards. Jessica Biel, Amy Adams, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet and Rebecca Hall were also considered for the role of Fantine.
