Much attention has been given to Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) lately on ABC's Once Upon a Time, but what can we expect from Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Robin (Sean Maguire) in the final episodes of season 5?

Regina and Robin have been a very popular couple since first connecting, and fans are very invested in their relationship. But both will be dealing with turmoil in the upcoming final episodes of the season.

Once Upon a Time showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz spoke on Regina, Robin and the rest of the main characters in a new Entertainment Weekly report.

"Regina, much like Emma, is dealing with an inward crisis that dovetails with something that's happening to the people she really cares about," Horowitz said. "Because of that, she finds herself really tested."

"Also, Regina finds herself, once again, feeling like the Evil Queen is something she can never break free off," Kitsis added. "There's a karmic debt that she still hasn't repaid."

Meanwhile, "Robin Hood is going to be dealing with the ramifications of this weekend's episode," Kitsis said.

The upcoming episode, titled "Last Rites," is expected to be a heartbreaker for fans. The episode's promo shows the residents of Storybrooke gathered around a gravesite, with special focus paid to Regina and Emma. Are either of these characters about to lose their love?

"This weekend, in a lot of ways, is like the finale to the Hades [Greg Germann] arc," Kitsis teased in an Entertainment Tonight interview. "I think that you are going to see a lot of the characters going through some really heavy and emotional situations."

He added, "I think this weekend will break a lot of hearts and will also give some people hope. It's going to be everything. Everything you expect from a finale, so this is just the beginning of a three-episode, all-killer, no-filler season-ender."

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
