He has continually defended his wife against claims she was trying to manipulate everyone to do things to her liking, but now, Eric (John McCook) may do some manipulating of his own and take a page out of Quinn's (Rena Sofer) book on The Bold and the Beautiful.

He offered Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) the position of CEO at Forrester at Quinn's suggestion, and then appointed Quinn as President, Wyatt (Darin Brooks) as head of PR, and Rick (Jacob Young) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) as co-Vice-Presidents, something that did not sit well with his sons. However, now, as they and Liam (Scott Clifton) continue expressing objections to how things are working out, Eric will use the situation to potentially help Quinn get what she wants-which is Wyatt and Steffy getting back together.

And when Liam goes to him to see if he would reconsider what he's doing, Eric will continue pretending to be independent and unlikely to manipulate.

"My granddaughter and I make up our own minds about everything, and her love life is hers only," he says to Liam in a preview clip for the Thursday, Dec. 15 episode.

Meanwhile, Rick will still be fuming over the decision Eric made, and will confront Wyatt about how he feels about his mother's marriage, and will become even more infuriated when he realizes that Wyatt genuinely believes the two are good for one another.

"When have you seen Eric happier than he is right now?" Wyatt asks.

"Before any of us laid eyes on the two of you," Rick replies.

Rick will also try to see just how much Wyatt knows about the level of manipulation he thinks Quinn is using with Eric, and when he realized Wyatt also doesn't know much about what they discuss, he will explode.

"We don't know the conversations that's going on between Quinn and my father behind closed doors," he shouts in the clip.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
