Why is Nina Dobrev shading Ian Somerhalder and The Vampire Diaries cast? Fans are a bit livid that she left a new cryptic message on her Instagram account.

The cast of her latest big screen movie, xXx: Return of Xander Cage," were given her support. She put up a big picture of the team, with the caption: "Now that's a team I can work with. So excited to share the new poster for@xXx. Xander Cage is back!"

Her social media followers were furious that she was shading The Vampire Diaries cast and a number of her fans accused her of going "out of line" for slamming her former co-stars, according to Tecno.

Still, in spite of the comments, Nina Dobrev still did not reveal whether she had compulsorily written the caption just in order to slam the Vampire Diaries cast. That included her ex-boyfriend Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Candice King, Kat Graham and so many more, according to International Business Times.

Instead, she just tweeted about the holiday season. One of her posts showed off her friendship with actress Jaime King, reacting to his comment about their "best photo booth contest" pics.

It is not clear whether Nina is in a battle with the cast of The Vampire Diaries or whether Ian Somerhalder prevented her return to the show.

It is also not too clear whether Nina Dobrev will make any appearances on the last season of The Vampire Diaries. Sources say that Nina and the producers simply couldn't come up with a deal to bring her back on the show. If that weren't enough, Ian Somerhalder wasn't looking forward to seeing his ex-girlfriend again.

Ian Somerhalder hinted that Nina Dobrev's comeback was nearly impossible. He told Variety during an interview, "As a producer, I do have a lot of information and then there's a lot of information I don't have. I want the audience to be happy, but I also am very pro human. I don't think these guys should have the ability to wreak havoc, kill everybody, ruin the lives of so many and then get out with a happy ending."

Nina Dobrev certainly hasn't reacted to the comments, making her fans feel let down that she will not reprise her role as Elena Gilbert in the last season of The Vampire Diaries, a show that made her a household name in the country.
