The year 2018 is off to a great start! Netflix has decided to renew Spike Lee's, She's Gotta Have It for a second season.

For those who thought they would never see a season two, Lee and the series' main actress, DeWanda Wise, both took to social media to confirm the news.

On Monday, Wise posted on her Instagram a cute throwback video of herself holding a bouquet of flowers, while she yells, "41 days straight." The video is from the production of the series' first season. Lee could be seen in the video yelling, "Come on."

Wise captioned the video, "Back ta werq! Season two is OFFICIAL!!! Can't wait to return to BK. Congrats to aaalll us. #HappyNewYear #ShesGottaHaveIt"

The Jungle Fever director also took to his Instagram to share a video of himself and his wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, announcing the good news. Tonya also wrote and worked on the series. The director captioned the video, "Happy New Year. Happy Year. Great News for 2018."

Spike Lee Does It Again

The iconic filmmaker has stated that fans of She's Gotta Have It should thank his wife for making the series possible.

"It was my wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, producer in her own right, who had the vision to take my film from the big screen and turn it into an episodic series," Lee said.

The first season made its debut on the popular streaming service, on Nov. 23, 2017. The show took a stance on the issue of street harassment with the social media campaign, "#MyNameIsnt."

The original series is based on Lee's 1986 film, which he also directed and starred in. Wise stars as the series main character, Nola Darling. In the series, Lee revisits his feature film by following Darling as she struggles to stay true to herself and her dreams while trying to divide her time between her friends, her job, and her lovers.

Anthony Ramos, Cleo Anthony, Lyriq Bent and Chyna Layne are a few of the comedy's cast members.

Although a date for the new season has not been confirmed, it will most likely premiere in about a year, given how Netflix seasons usually work.
