Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy Olson on AMC's award-winning drama Mad Men, recently talking about the show's series finale and revealed that she has not done any research to aid her performance.

Though Moss plays an enterprising young advertising copywriter on '60s-based show, she revealed to NPR on July 3 that she hasn't researched any real life women from that time period.

"I've done absolutely no research involving Mad Men whatsoever," she admitted. "Let me be very clear. Everything that I've learned about advertising in that time period is from the show. You know, my interest has been so much more about Peggy as woman, her emotional life and who she is as a person."

Moss also suggested that she almost preferred to be in the dark about where Peggy was heading as a character as the seasons passed.

"I think that [Mad Men creator] Matt [Weiner] had a grand plan, which I didn't know, [and] which I'm glad I didn't know, because it prevented me from playing her as more knowing or more savvy than she should be," Moss said.

As Mad Men enters its final season, Moss said that she had mixed feelings about its ending and that, "it's going to be very, very, very strange."

Moss speculated about where Peggy was going to end up by the end of the series in an interview with Vulture in late June.

"I like this idea of Peggy's journey getting to a place," she said, "and I hope to see it in season seven - I hope to see her get to a place where she is her own person with her own style, not copying a man."

When asked if Peggy was going to end up like Don Draper (Jon Hamm) or Ted Chaough (Kevin Rahm), Moss said she probably wouldn't end up like either of them. She also said that if she revealed exactly where she thinks Peggy will end up, then Weiner likely "would not do it."

Mad Men will be airing its final season within the 2013-2014 TV season but a premiere date has not yet been set by AMC.
